Our favorite blogs of 2010
We have spent a great portion of 2010 being inspired and endlessly entertained by these blogs. We are so thankful to the writers of each of these for providing us with ideas, inspiration and a good amount of fun. Here's to hoping that they keep it up in 2010 and amazing new blogs are found in 2011.
1. Stardust and Sequins: An oldie but a goodie. This has been our number 1 stop for inspiration over the past year. The pictures on this site are so in line with our style and what moves us, it's amazing.
2. Charmed She*s Sure: Clearly we are suckers for blogs with good photos. This blog has some of the best inspiration pictures as well. We tend to get alot of our good stuff from here.
3. Jak and Jil Blog: We couldn't leave Tommy Ton out, we really couldn't. Although this blog isn't a new one for us, we still ready every post. We have enjoyed watching Tommy grow as a photographer and we are still blown away by his work. He really is the best for street style pics of our favorites. It also helps that he loves the exact same people that we do.
4. Inspire/chictopia tumblr: we have found some of the best quotes and pictures on this site. This tumblr is a no-brainer and a quick read. One of the best, easiest places that we find inspiration.
5. French Frosting: this one is actually a spinoff of stardust and sequins, clearly we like this girl's style. She posts the prettiest pictures on this one, including food, fashion etc. This is the perfect blog to boost your mood. Just try and look at these pictures without smiling.
Hope all of you readers enjoy this list! Add these to your list of must read and we promise you won't be disappointed. Hopefully 2011 brings even more inspiration.

Obsession
Today we stumbled upon the blog PRP (photographingrealpeople) and were immediately captured by the style of the two girls that run the blog, Peony and Row. There is also a boy involved Pete, and he is stunning as well (he is an aspiring model). Peony and Row are recent Art History graduates with an interest in pursuing careers in fashion, obviously.
We were glued to the pictures of the two girls throughout fashion week. Their outfits were literally perfect. So well styled, yet looked so effortless. They both wear hats very well (made us want to run out and buy one immediately, even though we probably couldn't make a hat look that cool) and their hair always looks impeccable (how do they do that??)
We looked through the blog and quickly fell in love with it as well. There was something refreshing about how young they are and their views of fashion week. We have already added this blog to our list of must reads and we can't wait to see what they come up with. Like really, just look at the pictures and tell us you aren't obsessed.

Blogs we love: Stardust and Sequins
The past few weeks we have found ourselves in a bit of an inspiration rut. It may be the awkward season in between spring and summer (at least in LA) or we may just be a bit tired of the blogs and magazines that we read on a daily basis. Either way, coming across this blog, stardust and sequins, quickly pulled us out of that rut.
This blog seems to have the best collection of photos, from all over the place. Just scrolling down the homepage we found at least 5 photos we just had to have (maybe blown up in our living room?). It's refreshing to find a blog that allows us to look without thinking. We can just scroll through and find inspiration from a collection of photos from many different venues.
Check it out here. We promise it won't disappoint.

You better bet that we will be adding this blog to the ones that we look at daily for new ideas. Cat from Knighttcat does one of the best jobs of picking the most inspiring, relatable and unique pictures for her readers. Check this one out. We promise it won't disappoint.

It Girl of The Month: Gala Gonzalez (October Edition)
Who she is: Gala Gonzalez, 23, was born in Spain and now resides in London.
What She does: Gala's is the mastermind behind the blog Inside Amlul's closet. She started the blog in 2005 and since then has gained millions of followers and a name as one of the top, young, fashion bloggers in the world. We have to say that her blog was one of the first fashion blogs that we dedicatedly subscribed to. This was mostly due to her numerous pictures of her interesting and creative outfits and her ability to inspire us with a single look. When Gala isn't blogging she works as a stylist, a creative consultant and most recently a fashion designer. Gala just came out with her first collabrative line The Music Collection. As creative director of this line, she aims to portray the complicated link that fashion and music have to one another. She describes this as one of the biggest and most exciting challenges she has faced.
Why we love her: This girl won our hearts as one of the first fashion ladies to take pictures of their outfits every day and post them online. This is such a trend now, it is hard to remember a time when no one really did this. Gala helped start this movement and ended up accidentally inspiring many young girls and their outfit choices. We love Gala's creativity and are constantly impressed with everything that she does. We look forward to her updates and her newest ventures. We find this girl to be one of the most interesting twenty-three year olds around.
On her style: Gala is best known for her impeccable ability to mix high and low pieces. She constantly has the best vintage pieces, mixed with high end designers. Pieces from Zara are a constant in her wardrobe mixed with Mulberry bags and shoes by Burberry Possum. She rocks YSL shoes, jackets from top shop and tees of her own creations. In our minds she has won first place in mixing the high and low. Her style is a mix of London edge and fashionable elegance.
If you haven't yet, we recommend you check out her blog and her newest clothing designs. You can also follow her on twitter here

Obsession of the Day
We just came across this picture and absolutely had to share it. Rumi from Fashion Toast just posted this picture of herself in an amazing outfit, that just happens to be a backwards sweater. We are obsessed. So basically we will be spending next weekend searching for a sweater that one of us can do this to as well....
Thanks Rumi for the inspiration.

Current Obsession: Alexandra Derry from 4th and bleeker

We absolutely love Alexandra Derry's blog 4th and Bleeker. We found her awhile back and quickly fell in love with her witty writing and interesting style. We really wish that we could hang out with this girl and maybe have a few hours to play in her closet.
Anyways, Style.com just did a feature on Alexandra and her favorite things. We didn't know that she was so main stream...but it is also true that Vogue (and thus style.com) is trying to be more cutting edge. It doesn't matter to us how this feature came about, we are very excited to see it.
Some of our favorites, from her favorites: The Rolling stone CD boxed set and a hardcore Stephen Webster superstud ring.
Check out Alexandra's favorite things. Not going to lie, this article made our Thursday morning.

Vogue UK jumps on the blog wagon

We were very excited this morning to learn that British Vogue will now have a blog. We spend a good portion of our days here at TheStylist perusing numerous different fashion blogs for inspiration, ideas and just to keep up in the fashion world.
With this new blog coming out we got to thinking, on this lovely Wednesday morning, about what blogs we don't think we could live without. Okay, that's a bit dramatic, but we would be very, very sad without this list of blogs that keep us up to date, entertained and endlessly inspired.
Here's our list, enjoy:
1. Fashionista: Absolute best blog for day to day fashion news.
2. Modelinia: Okay we know it isn't a blog, but we visit this site at least once a day to stalk all of our favorite models (ahem Coco, Chanel, Erin...)
3. Sartorialist: We know this one is very popular, but we just cannot get enough of Scott Schuman's pictures. Whenever we are in a bit of a slump we always visit this one.
4. Inside Am-lul's closet: This is probably one of our favorites. This girl lives in London and embodies most of the style that we always aim to have.
5. Oh So Coco: Coco Rocha's blog. enough said.
Check these out and let us know your favorite fashion/art/style blogs!
