Memorial Day Weekend
Miraculously we aren't working for 3 whole days (minus a few dress pickups and drop offs).
Our to do list for these 3 days off:
tan lines
little sleep
lots of play
beach volleyball
good music
calm, ocean view sunsets
wild nights
tastey cocktails with plenty of lime
Hope everyone enjoys it. It's summer time now....

Sex & The City 2 and Halston
Okay, we get it. Sarah Jessica Parker is the Creative Director for Halston Heritage. We get that she wants to publicize the brand, and that her name is now synonymous with the brand that has almost died more than a few times (we couldn't help but mention). But seriously, did she need to wear Halston in the WHOLE freaking movie??
Sorry, we are a bit upset. We went into the movie expecting to see the best outfits, put together from an array of designers, mixed with vintage pieces and other treasures found by Pat Field herself. However, what we got was a closet of Halston Heritage, and the same pleated dress in 3 different colors and lengths.
We were really hoping for so much more. And let's be honest, this brand push is so blatantly obvious....
Please note, these pictures don't do it justice. There are even more Halston outfits. Also note, that we actually do like Halston, we just think that someone took the easy route in outfits for this character.
At least the shoes were great?

J. Crew Keeps Stepping Up Its Game
We stumbled upon this while we were browsing J. Crew online this evening. We were looking for some preppier looks for summer, and obviously this site came to mind first. We know that head women's designer Jenna Lyon's has taken it upon herself to bring J. Crew to the forefront of the industry, but she still continues to surprise us. She has helped the company ditch the conservative and boring rep and has created fans out of some of fashion's most daring group.
We saw this lookbook and were instantly intrigued. We love that it is so clearly geared towards a younger generation, and a woman who doesn't neccesarily play by the rules.
We definitely added some of these styles to our shopping cart asap.
Keep up the good work J. Crew, we like it.

Sorry for the lack of posts....
Spending the week in Oklahoma and trying to appreciate the small things in life, such as, the flowers, lots of trees, simple boredom etc. Trying to slow down for a few days and not check email every five seconds, not sleep with iphone in hand, and not have a heart attack when said iphone dies. However, updates will resume shortly.

30 days of Olivia Palermo
We are a bit late on this one, so apologies. Vogue UK chronicled Olivia's outfit choices for 30 days and we were pleasantly surprised by some of her garment choices. She seems to be the genius at mixing high and low pieces. We loved seeing the gems she found at zara, topshop, club monaco and even the Ann Taylor jewelry. She also seriously rocked the BCBG dress on the left. This piece makes us like her a lot more....
Also, So jealous of the Mulberry Alexa bag and the Prabal Gurung dress at the end...
Check out the whole piece here.

Chanel Resort 2010
Narrowing down the top four looks from this show was nearly impossible.
This collection is exactly what we want to be wearing all summer....and now we are obsessed with Abbey Lee (especially after Karl's latest film).
Karl is speaking to us more thank usual these days, (and we thank him for the increased inspiration).

Karl Lagerfeld's New Video for Chanel: Remember Me
So, we all know that Karl likes to make films for each of his collections. Many think he makes the films to embody the feel and inspriation behind each collection. However, we think that he really just does it to have some fun. Just watch this video and try to tell us that filming this doesn't seem like the ultimate party.
Do yourself a favor and watch this video. It will put a smile on your face. And you get to see Leigh Lezark and Abbey Lee seriously kill it....

Amanda Uprichard Joan Dress: Seen on the Hills
Okay, we admitt that The Hills is one of our guilty pleasures. We watch it for the debauchary and the fashion, and that is basically it. We were quite excited tonight to see Audrina wearing one of our favorites, The Amanda Uprichard Joan Dress. After a bit of research we found that Stephanie also wore this dress to a different event this spring.
Borrow this dress in turquoise from us for $30. Email info@thestylistla.com to get your hands on this one.

New Love: Bluefly Closet Confessions
Yesterday one of our amazingly blog savvy friends sent us a link to this site, www.blueflyclosetconfessions.com .
This one is even better than the Selby, because instead of a tour of our favorite fashion icons apartment, this site focuses on their closets. Let's be honest, that's the part we want to see anyways.
Closet tours include two of our favorites, Harley Viera Newton and Kelly Cutrone, and the word is that they will be adding more closets very soon. You can also send video of your own closet to try and win a $500 bluefly shopping spree.
We think this is an innovative and quite intelligent move for Bluefly. They sure got our attention and have provided us with a great procrastination tool for the day.

The Met Ball, Our Picks
Many ladies really stepped it up last night, while others had some quite odd choices (you know who you are).
Also, did anyone else think that everyone looked a bit off in style.com's photos?
Regardless, here are our 3 faves.
