It Girl of the Month: Olivia Palermo (December Edition)

We have tried to resist loving Olivia Palermo for quite some time.  We didn't like her attitude on the city and we hated the way she acted so entitled.  Well, we realize that reality tv does not always paint people in the best light and since the show she has continued to impress us with her outfits, her demeanor and her ascent into the fashion world.

Who she is: Olivia was born in February of 1986.  Her father is a real estate developer from Italy and her mother is an interior designer.  She spent her childhood between New York City and Greenwich Connecticut.  She grew up very involved in charity events in NY and was involved in a scandal regarding a letter she sent to NY socialites, begging for acceptance.  (These are the things that held us back from liking her....but we do think she has come far from these incidents.)

What she does: She has obviously dabbled in acting (the hills) and is also a model.  She was in the recent Mango ad campaign beside her boyfriend model, Johannes Huebl, who she has been dating since 2008.  She just announced in the January Issue of Vogue Spain that she will be launching her own clothing line and creating a reality show around it.

Why we love her: For starters we are a bit jealous of her.  She obviously has an insane closet, amazing genes and an extremely good looking boyfriend.  But the main reason that we have made her our it girl is because of her style.  Olivia always looks put together.  Every single outfit that she wears seems to be thought out and well styled.  We usually dislike outfits that aren't effortless, but with Olivia we really appreciate that she takes time to put together her clothing choices.

On her style: Her closet must contain the following: Birkin bags, Every top seller from Topshop,  the best gems that Zara has to offer, accessories from all over the world and couture gowns made by some of her designer bffs.  Olivia (as with most of our it girls) mixes high and low fashion extremely well.  She wears a ton of Zara and Topshop, mixed with ready-to-wear pieces.  She throws in amazing finds that she has grabbed on her travels throughout the world.  She did a piece for British Vogue on her outfits for 30 days and it helps inspire us in our wardrobe!  You can see that piece here.  Over all we are excited to see her continue to grow and her outfit choices along the way.
