It Girl of the Month: Rumi Neely (November Edition)

Who she is: Rumi Neely was born in San Fransisco and now lives in San Diego

What she does:  Rumi is the founder of fashion toast, a blog that chronicles her outfit choices, shopping excursions and her general inspiration.  She recently has done a little collaboration with RVCA.  She also runs the ebay store Treasure Chest Vintage, which is known for selling out of it's incredible vintage pieces within moments.

Why we love her:  We assume that Rumi enjoys the hunt for clothes almost as much as she loves to put together the perfect look.  She has a certain curiosity that motivates her to look for  clothing in the most random places.  She then takes on the task of creating outfits that really express her own style.  She does this by adding in her favorite accessories, giant rings, and intricate necklaces (wow can this girl accessorize!)  We find her posts incredibly inspiring, and we have actually tried certain styles because of her blog.  And trust us, we don't say that about many blogs...

On her style: As with all of our It Girls, Rumi is a pro at mixing high and low items.  She frequenly finds the most amazing treasures at Forever 21 and H&M.   Rumi describes her style as "One part grunge, one part Parisian influence, then rolled around in the San Diego sand and dipped into a giant jewelry box. I love pieces that are both simple and fresh, and I have what I think is bordering on a fetish for ankle boots...you'll probably find me in shorts and my ChloĆ© Doc Marten wedges walking to a bar by the beach to get lobster tacos."  We can't get enough of her edgy style (think platform black heals, studded flats), made softer by adding delicate jewelry.  Rumi also experiments with clothes more than most people.  Remember our post a few months back about her wearing a backwards sweater as a dress?

Oh and we can't help but mention, she has been known to hang out with Gala, our October It girl.
We just can't get enough of these girls.  Check out her blog and twitter for more from Rumi.

It Girl of The Month: Gala Gonzalez (October Edition)

Who she is: Gala Gonzalez, 23, was born in Spain and now resides in London.

What She does: Gala's is the mastermind behind the blog Inside Amlul's closet.  She started the blog in 2005 and since then has gained millions of followers and a name as one of the top, young, fashion bloggers in the world.  We have to say that her blog was one of the first fashion blogs that we dedicatedly subscribed to.  This was mostly due to her numerous pictures of her interesting and creative outfits and her ability to inspire us with a single look.  When Gala isn't blogging she works as a stylist, a creative consultant and most recently a fashion designer.  Gala just came out with her first collabrative line The Music Collection.  As creative director of this line, she aims to portray the complicated link that fashion and music have to one another.  She describes this as one of the biggest and most exciting challenges she has faced.

Why we love her: This girl won our hearts as one of the first fashion ladies to take pictures of their outfits every day and post them online.  This is such a trend now, it is hard to remember a time when no one really did this.  Gala helped start this movement and ended up accidentally inspiring many young girls and their outfit choices.  We love Gala's creativity and are constantly impressed with everything that she does.  We look forward to her updates and her newest ventures.  We find this girl to be one of the most interesting twenty-three year olds around.

On her style: Gala is best known for her impeccable ability to mix high and low pieces.  She constantly has the best vintage pieces, mixed with high end designers.  Pieces from Zara are a constant in her wardrobe mixed with Mulberry bags and shoes by Burberry Possum.  She rocks YSL shoes, jackets from top shop and tees of her own creations.  In our minds she has won first place in mixing the high and low. Her style is a mix of London edge and fashionable elegance.

If you haven't yet, we recommend you check out her blog and her newest clothing designs.  You can also follow her on twitter here

Vogue UK jumps on the blog wagon

We were very excited this morning to learn that British Vogue will now have a blog. We spend a good portion of our days here at TheStylist perusing numerous different fashion blogs for inspiration, ideas and just to keep up in the fashion world.

With this new blog coming out we got to thinking, on this lovely Wednesday morning, about what blogs we don't think we could live without. Okay, that's a bit dramatic, but we would be very, very sad without this list of blogs that keep us up to date, entertained and endlessly inspired.

Here's our list, enjoy:

1. Fashionista: Absolute best blog for day to day fashion news.

2. Modelinia: Okay we know it isn't a blog, but we visit this site at least once a day to stalk all of our favorite models (ahem Coco, Chanel, Erin...)

3. Sartorialist: We know this one is very popular, but we just cannot get enough of Scott Schuman's pictures. Whenever we are in a bit of a slump we always visit this one.

4. Inside Am-lul's closet: This is probably one of our favorites. This girl lives in London and embodies most of the style that we always aim to have.

5. Oh So Coco: Coco Rocha's blog. enough said.

Check these out and let us know your favorite fashion/art/style blogs!
