Some Street Style Pics
to get you through Thursday.
Reasons to love:
1. The perfect long gray skirt and a bright accessory to spice it up.
2. The camel coat we have been crazily looking for all over LA.
3. Knee high socks and pleated skirt, reminds us of Catholic school (in a good way).
4. Alexa Chung, enough said.
5. A sweet, pretty floral skirt mixed with wintery outerwear.

Happy Friday!
For some reason this week we have been itching incessantly for the weekend. Now that it is almost here, it is hard to concentrate on work rather than what we are wearing for events this weekend, and what nail color is our new pick.
This picture of Sasha is fun and carefree (reminding us a bit of our mood today.)

Superb
Leigh Lezark and Anna Dello Russo shot by Scott Schuman.
Three talents that we hold so dearly all in one shot (well, Scott is behind the shot.)
We love when the people that inspire us so much work so well together.

Lindsey Wixson: Our little girl all grown up.
Last Spring, this stunning young model caught our attention. We were immediately drawn to her, her pouty look and her normal, middle America upbringing. We have been following her moves since the Fall 2010 shows and are very happy to report that this girl, is in fact, killing it.
She just walked in the following SS 2011 shows: Sonia Rykiel, Versace, Rodarte, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Alexander McQueen, YSL, Missoni, Nina Ricci and the list goes on.
Here are some of our favorite pictures of her from this season. She looks so stunning we just had to post them.
Good work Lindsey, we are still your # 1 fan!

A little story about off-price...
It is pretty obvious that we have a love for nice things (designer shoes, shopbop clothing, runway looks....etc) however, on a fashion budget it is impossible to maintain a complete designer wardrobe. This explains why we like mixing high and low fashion so much.... Half of the fun of what we do, is experimenting different ways to have a killer wardrobe on such a low budget (ahem, dress borrowing anyone??)
We were intrigued when we were invited to an event hosted by Marshalls and TJ Maxx. To be honest, we haven't been huge off-price shoppers in the past. Although we love a good sample sale, digging in tubs at a national off price chain for hidden gems, was not on our to-do list. (Please note that this view of off price was very inaccurate). However, our love of discounted designer items lured us to the event.
We were quite surprised that the stores are much nicer than one may think....and the merchandise that they carry is often what is currently in stores. That brought us back to our days working at YaYa Aflalo, and reminded us that we used to sell current inventory to off price retailers when stores canceled orders. It was all starting to make sense. These off-price stores didn't have outdated merchandise, they were just overages of current inventory.
Okay enough about the logistics....Marshalls and TJ Maxx so nicely gave us gift cards to the store and let us run free to find the perfect items in the store. We must admit we went a bit crazy...
Here is what we purchased:
1. Michael Kors Sweater with Hood: $39.99
2. Michael Kors Bandage Skirt: $49.99
3. Robin K Sweater: $12.99 (we have never heard of this brand, but thought the sweater was cute, and so freaking inexpensive, so we went for it.)
So, to make a long story short, we have been transformed to off-price addicts. These stores are a nice addition to our typical thrift store, resale store, flea market, department store, specialty boutique shopping route.....
We recommend you check them out.

Just Fabulous
This picture is stunning. One of the main reasons that we love Anna Dello Russo is because she has so much fun with fashion (cherry and watermelon headpieces?).
We have been endlessly entertained by Anna's fashion month outfits.

The Ring Obsession
Our obsession with rings is going to another level. We spent our lunch break in Free People picking up a few of theirs, and now we are on a desperate search for the perfect double ring.
We are leaving for a weekend in San Francisco tomorrow evening, and Friday will be spent shopping and inspiration searching (and most likely consuming alcoholic beverages at lunch.) So hopefully we will pick up some good, new jewelry there.....

Chanel SS 11 Faves
Okay so we liked the Chanel show, we really liked some of the looks and we downright loved a few of them. Even though this show didn't compare at all to the icebergs and fur of FW 2010, we still liked the direction that Karl took. We also realize that Karl's shows for Chanel are ones that we usually have to let process for a bit before we fall madly in love with the looks. The one thing we couldn't swallow were he shoes.
What did you guys think? Here are our favorite looks from the show.

It Girl of the Month: Taylor Tomasi Hill (September Edition)
Who She Is: Taylor Tomasi Hill was born and raised in Dallas Texas (maybe one reason we like her so much?) and she attended Highland Park High School. This is where she met her future husband Chase Hill. She then received her Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design from The Pratt Institute. After that she began a career and quickly made a name for herself in the editorial scene of New York.
What She Does: Taylor is now the Style and Accessories Editor at US Marie Claire. Before this job she was the Accessories Director at Teen Vogue. She started her editorial career as an intern at W, and quickly worked her way to the top there. She has quickly become a favorite of street style bloggers and of young aspiring trend-setters everywhere.
Why We Love Her: For starters we love her blinding red hair and her effortless dressing. Her personal style isn't too "done up" and she does casual sophistication quite well. Oh and
when she was asked in a recent interview with Refinery 29, what song best describes her personal style, she answered: 'You Shook Me All Night Long' by AC/DC." Enough said.
On Her Style: Taylor claims that she doesn't like looks that are too fussy or done up. We have observed that her style is usually a mashup of runway and everyday favorites. She will pair the newest Proenza must have with Madewell Boyfriend jeans or a JCrew dress with Alexander Wang shoes. Everyone knows that we love those who can mix high and low fashion very well, and Taylor does it perfectly. We also are always obsessed with her accesory choices as she tends to embody the "more is more" mantra that we love so much.
